England
India

India came badly unstuck at Lord’s in the second Test Match last week, and their batsmen will be hoping for less seamer friendly conditions when they take on England at Trent Bridge on Saturday. England, for their part, must be rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect of being able to bowl at an Indian batting line-up experiencing a crisis of confidence in England right now.

England vs India Betting Tips: Form Guide

England In Confident Mood

Joe Root’s England team will be feeling very confident after absolutely destroying India in the second Test at Lord’s last week. Once the ball started swinging, the England bowlers toyed with the Indian batsmen, making the tourists look like very ordinary players. James Anderson and Stuart Broad remain the world’s best bowlers in English conditions, and they received strong support from Chris Woakes, who also scored a century in the match, and Sam Curran, who looks a real prospect, both as a left-arm seam bowler and as a batsman.

Of course, the Ben Stokes situation has been hanging over the squad, with the all-rounded in court this week facing charges relating to a fight in Bristol last September. Stokes was found not guilty of affray, but could yet face further censure for his behaviour from the ECB. Stokes has been named in the squad for Trent Bridge.  Woakes and Curran stepped up to perform in the all-rounder role in the team at Lord’s, and both players deserve to retain their places in the squad for the Third Test.

India Need To Prevent Complete Implosion

Virat Kohli’s India team find themselves in a tough situation at the moment. After making a good start in the First Test at Edgbaston, the wheels came off later in the game. That defeat was followed up by the humiliation of the Second Test at Lord’s, when the Indian batsmen were utterly bamboozled by England’s swing and seam bowling. The team looked woefully unprepared to bat in English conditions, and questions have to be asked about the preparations undertaken by the team in the lead-up to this series.

There are also questions about Kohli’s fitness, with the lynchpin skipper struggling with back problems during the game at Lord’s. Indian fans will be praying that his injury heals, as the rest of the batting line-up has looked terrible so far this summer. India will also need to get their selection right for the game in Nottingham. They picked too many spin bowlers at Lord’s, and the whole team looked unbalanced and wrong for the conditions.

India need a good transfusion of professionalism this week, when it comes to their preparations and mindset. Unless their attitude changes, they could get utterly taken apart by the English bowling attack again.

England vs India Preview: Recent Meetings

India have been well beaten in both of the games played so far in this Test Match series. In the First Test at Edgbaston, England won by 31 runs, securing victory on the fourth morning of the game. Good performances from Sam Curran on debut with the bat, and Ben Stokes with the ball, saw England fight back to earn victory after a difficult start to the game.

The Second Test turned out to be a much more one-sided game, with England winning by an innings and 159 runs. James Anderson was the real star, with the Lancashire seamer taking 4-23 in the second innings, and taking nine wickets in the match in total. The only reason he did not win Man of the Match was due to Chris Woakes scoring an excellent 137 not out, an innings which did plenty to create a winning position for England.

England vs India Prediction: Comfortable England Win

This is a crucial game for India. If they lose this match, they lose the series, along with plenty of their pride. So far, the Indians have massively underperformed in this Test series, and they need to show their supporters that they actually care about winning. They can’t leave it all to Virat Kohli again, especially as the skipper is struggling with a back injury.

If you’re looking for England vs India betting tips for today, the prediction is that the game will go England’s way again in the end. India may well start strongly, but unless they have found a way to cope with England’s seam attack, they will struggle to score runs again. England will win the game, and possibly by an innings again.
