Doncaster Rovers
Luton Town

It’s seventh place versus ninth in League One this weekend, with Doncaster Rovers welcoming Luton to South Yorkshire. After making a decent start to the 2018/19 campaign, Rovers have found it hard to win games in recent weeks. Luton, for their part, have not lost in four games in all competitions. We could well see these two sides swap places in the League One table on Saturday.

Doncaster Rovers vs Luton Town Betting Tips: Form Guide

Doncaster Drawing Too Often

After making a good start to the season, Doncaster Rovers have hit a dip in form that will concern manager Grant McCann. Rovers have now gone seven games in all competitions without a victory. Their latest game, in the Football League Trophy ended in defeat at home to Newcastle United Under-21s. John Marquis hit a first-half injury time equaliser to level the game up just before the interval, but two second half goals from the visitors sealed the victory for the Magpies youngsters.

In their last League One match, which was last weekend away at Peterborough United, Rovers drew 1-1. Marquis was on the scoresheet again, scoring in the 40th minute. Donny could not hold onto the lead, though, with Ryan Tafazolli hitting an equaliser for Peterborough just before the game’s hour mark. Doncaster had drawn 0-0 with Portsmouth the week before. They lost in midweek in the run-up to the Peterborough game, being knocked out of the League Cup by Blackpool, who won 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium. McCann will be worried by the team’s lack of victories, and will want to see a change of fortune this weekend.

Luton Improving Fast

Luton Town manager Nathan Jones will have been pleased with his team’s form in recent weeks. After three defeats in their first four games of the season in all competitions, they are now unbeaten in four games. They have climbed up to ninth in the table, and will surely feel confident that they can come away from Doncaster with at least a point. A victory, of course, would see them leap frog Rovers in the League One table.

Luton’s first league win of the season came at home to Southend United on August 21. The Hatters won 2-0, thanks to first half goals from Elliot Lee, who scored in the second minute, and Danny Hylton, who converted a 33rd minute spot kick. They followed this victory up with another just four days later, beating Shrewsbury Town 3-2 at Kenilworth Road. Luton’s scorers that day were Jorge Grant, Jack Stacey and Elliot Lee, all of whom scored in the second half. Last weekend, Luton drew 1-1 at Wycombe Wanderers. Matty Pearson netted a 68th minute equaliser for the Hatters after the home side went into the lead with a 15th minute penalty.

Doncaster Rovers vs Luton Town Prediction: Narrow Away Win

If you’re looking for Doncaster Rovers vs Luton Town betting tips for today, it would be probably be wise to back Luton Town to win this game. The visitors have been improving in their last few games, after a tricky start to the season, while Rovers have been travelling in reverse, and are finding winning games very hard right now. There are not likely to be many  goals, but we expect the Hatters to be travelling back down south on Saturday with a 1-0 win and three more precious league points.
