Kachy can make it a Good Friday for favourite backers

Kachy has a superb record at Lingfield and looks a worthy odds-on favourite to enhance it with victory in the 6f All-weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes on Good Friday at Lingfield (15:05). This Tom Dascombe trained six-year-old has only tasted defeat once in five starts on the all-weather – when runner-up in this 12 months ago to subsequent Group 1 winner City Light.

He has won all three of his other starts over course and distance and looked better than ever this season, having broken course records on both his outings over the winter. In the first of those at Wolverhampton, he showed his customary early dash from the gate to make all and easily beat Gulliver by six lengths.

Top rated course and distance winner

Kachy backed that up with a scintillating success in Listed contest over course and distance back in February, when breaking like a rocket from a high draw to grab the lead and blitz home by 3 1/2 lengths from Gorgeous Nora. He had the re-opposing Stone Of Destiny a further three-quarters of a length behind in third and, there’s absolutely no reason why he should not confirm the form with that rival.

An official rating of 112 also makes Kachy the highest rated in the 11-runner line-up, giving him 4lb and upwards in hand on his rivals. That fact he is drawn out wide in eight should also be no problem, as he won from it in such terrific style last time out.

So, with regular pilot Richard Kingscote – who has a 33 per cent strike rate on him – once again in the saddle, there is simply nothing not to like about Kachy’s chances of going one better than last year. He looks impossible to oppose and simply had to be the standout bet in our Lingfield betting tips for April 19.

Amade the answer to Marathon test

In the All-weather Marathon Championships Conditions Stakes run over an extended 1m 7f (14:00), French raider Amade looks the one to be on. Trained by by Alessandro and Giuseppe Botti, this five-year-old is progressing at a rate of knots and comes into the race on the back of five straight successes.

After making a winning debut in the UK at Kempton back in January when coming from off the pace and quickening clear to easily beat Castlelyons by 2 1/4 lengths, the son of Casmento was ultra-impressive when following up over 2m at Chelmsford lasts month.

Seeking six-timer

Amade was steadied at the start and held-up in the last pair, before making smooth headway when switched right a furlong from home. He then showed a smart turn of foot once again to shoot clear and stay on strongly to beat Elegiac by 3 1/2 lengths.

There was nothing not to like about the authority he showed in getting the job done and the runner-up, to whom he was conceding 3lb, has since landed a Listed contest at Nottingham to give the form a rock solid look. Amade also had Higher Power, Aircraft Carrier and grey Britain in behind – in third, fourth and fifth respectively – and it’s impossible to make a case for any of that trio turning around the form.

He is clearly a stayer going places and another plus is that he has the services of Christophe Soumillon in the saddle who is 1-1 on him. So, taking everything into account, Amade looks a worthy favourite for this and hence rates our next best bet on a cracking seven-race Good Friday card.

Glendevon appeals each-way under Moore

Glendevon has run really well to finish runner-up in three of his last four outings, so – now partnered by Ryan Moore for just the second time – looks decent each-way value in the All-weather Mile Championships Conditions Stakes that brings proceedings to a close (16:45). In the last of those over 7f at Kempton, the Richard Hughes trained four-year-old went down by just a head to Crossing The Line.

After tracking the leaders and racing a shade too keenly on his first run following a 115 day break, the son of Scat Daddy made his effort on the outside a furlong from home. He then led briefly and stuck to the task gamely to lose out in the dying stride.

Unlucky loser

It was a highly promising return to action, especially as he raced with the choke out early doors, and should have blown away the cobwebs and out Glendevon spot on for this. The step back up to a a mile will also play to his strengths as he has solid form over further and this should be run a strong gallop which will bring his stamina into play.

Glendevon is also able to race off an unchanged mark of 100 and the booking of Moore, who has previously had just four rides for the stable, suggests connections mean business. So, at the odds on offer, he features as out each-way punt and this completes these Lingfield betting tips for April 19 on All-Weather Finals day.
