Tromso vs Brann - Free Betting Tips

Tromso
Brann

Lars Arne Nilsen knows that his Brann side need to win here to continue entertaining any hopes of winning the Eliteserien this season, and will hope they can get it against bottom-half side Tromso. The Bergen side may well be seven points behind Rosenborg coming into this game, so they’ll need to live up to the more optimistic Tromso vs Brann betting tips if they are to stay in contact with the men from Trondheim.

Brann simply have to win, whereas Tromso seem set to coast to the end of a season that will end in neither relegation nor European qualification. The visitors, then, will be more up for this game, and we’d back them to get the three points they need at 7/5 with 888sport. We can expect the second-placed side to start fast, and it would be no surprise to see them score early – so we think the odds of 16/5 from William Hill for them to lead at half time and win in 90 minutes might be the Tromso vs Brann best odds of the weekend. Finally, you can get odds of 16/1 for Brann to win this fixture 3-1. That’s the same score they managed at Haugesund, a better side than the one they face here.

Tromso vs Brann Betting Tips: Form Guide

Tromso Trundle To A Halt

Tromso manager Simo Valakari won’t have expected to break into the European spots this season, but he might have hoped to be in better shape at this point. There are enough sides who are worse than the team from the Arctic Circle for them to not have to fear relegation, but their form as the season enters its final few games has been pretty lamentable. Their single win in the last four games came at relegation candidates Stromsgodset, by a handy score of 4-2, but other than that they have failed to make any kind of positive impact.

The last outing at the Alfheim Stadion was against strugglers Stabaek, and the sides played out a forgettable 0-0 draw. Whether Valakari’s men have downed tools due to the present league position is hard to say, but Gutan visited Lillestrom last Monday evening, and against a side who had won 4 games from their first 22 they were unable to make any impact on the game, losing 1-0 and barely registering a shot on goal despite having the bulk of the possession. During their recent run, they’ve also lost to Bodo/Glimt, so even against some of the weaker sides in Eliteserien they’re still not getting among the points.

Although there are plenty of Tromso vs Brann betting tips for today that indicate the hosts having a live chance of winning the game, there is little in their recent form to indicate that they can justify that level of faith. The rest of this season may see them play for Valakari’s future in the Alfheim dugout, but the Finn will be on very shaky ground unless his players suddenly find a level of interest that has not been seen up to this point.

Brann Looking For Instant Rebound

Going into last weekend’s fixtures, Brann trailed leaders Rosenborg by just two points, and they would have been confident of at least maintaining that gap. Their opponents were dead-last Sandefjord, who have won two games all season. In the end, it took a late Skalevik goal to prevent the relegation certainties from making Brann their third victim of the season. Two points very much dropped at home, then, and Rosenborg’s win allowed the champions to widen the gap to more than a win. With the top two still to face off at the end of October, Nilsen’s men can still take the title, but they’ll need to win here and keep winning to maintain pressure.

The particular frustration for Brann is that the wasteful draw came after a couple of very good wins against top-four sides Ranheim (1-0) and Haugesund (3-1). Picking up six points from those fixtures was no gimme, and although the home game against Ranheim was a nervy one, the visit to Haugesund was one of their best showings this season, with the men from Bergen racing into a 2-0 lead after 12 minutes. That match saw a fine performance from Daouda Bamba, who scored the opener and created a late, decisive goal from Kris Barmen. The Ivoirien has been preferred to top scorer Stefan Skalevik for recent games, but a mediocre showing last time out may see a change from Nilsen. One thing is for sure – a lot of Tromso vs Brann match previews will ask whether the two could play together in a bid to bring more attacking thrust.

Tromso vs Brann Preview: Recent Meetings

Brann will hope that they can repeat this weekend the level of performance that they put in when Tromso were the visitors, back in May of this season. On that day, the then league-leading hosts thrashed their visitors 3-0. The game was fairly one-sided, and the first goal came on 18 minutes when visiting defender Simen Wangberg put past his own goalkeeper. A quarter of an hour later, Skalevik took an opportunity to widen the margin and Brann carried a 2-0 lead into the break.

Midway through the second half, the third goal arrived, again through Skalevik. So dominant were the home side on the day that 3-0 was not at all flattering to them, and perhaps even a little bit generous to Tromso. Nilsen will settle for any kind of win this weekend, but a performance like they pulled out that day would be an excellent springboard for the last six games of the season.

Tromso vs Brann Prediction: Comfortable Away Win

Not to be unduly unkind to Tromso but, right now, if an Eliteserien side wants a game in which they can bounce back from a run of indifferent form, they’d probably pick the one Brann have this weekend. The hosts aren’t fighting relegation; the problem is, they’re not fighting anything right now. Every once in a while, a side with nothing to play for pulls out a free-flowing, winning performance, and Brann will need to be on the lookout for that. However, it’s more likely that the visitors will have things mostly their own way here.

This game will come after Rosenborg have played their game for the weekend; that’s a tricky visit to Molde, and it could see them drop points. A win here at Tromso could very well see Brann right back in the thick of things, title-wise. Regardless of the result in that game, though, Brann know they can’t afford to drop any more cheap points. Our Tromso vs Brann prediction is that they will not drop any here – this should be a comfortable away win, and another three goals for Nilsen’s men would not be a surprise at all.
